Chocolate, Abuelita 12/18oz
In 1919, brothers Francisco and Raymundo González Barragán founded Fábrica de Chocolates La Azteca in Veracruz, Mexico, specializing in hot chocolate. By 1938, the factory was the primary chocolate manufacturer in Mexico. Now, the company’s signature ABUELITA™ hot chocolate is a NESTLÉ® favorite enjoyed around the world.
In Mexican culture, four traditions bring families together: Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), celebrated at the graves of lost loved ones; Christmas; the Epiphany, celebrated with a sweet bread called Rosca de Reyes; and Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas Day), celebrated with a feast of tamales. These holidays drive 72% of chocolate consumption in Mexico—and with its sweet aroma and rich flavor, it’s no wonder that NESTLÉ® ABUELITA™ has been an essential part of togetherness for generations.
